Selling my beloved liveaboard at the desirable South Dock Marina.
Price listed to sell.
She is a Van deStadt Norman 40, a motor-sailor liveaboard on a residential berth on Greenland Dock. She has a spacious and thoughtfully designed interior, loads of storage and a cozy living environment. The living area features plush seating and convenient built-in shelves, a lovely table to eat at and host friends. Then, down a couple of steps are the galley and bathroom with a shower, and onto a forward cabin in the bow suitable for sleeping at least one person, or a private cinema room should it suit you like it did me. The galley includes a fridge, sink, and oven with 4 gas stoves. Towards the stern, there's a double-bed cabin with built-in wardrobe space and plenty of drawers. She has been looked after meticulously whilst I have owned, including a revamp of the paint system in 2017, all new seacocks fitted, and extensive work to bilges to address any small areas of rust that I could find. Anti-fouled and anodes replaced last summer, hull in great shape.
Has been used as a liveaboard for the past 15 years or so, she would need some rigging and other deck work to be properly seaworthy again in my opinion, but the sails, hull and engine are in excellent shape.
Crafted in 1992 by Steel Technique in the UK, she marries a classic design with comfort and performance.
Constructed from FRP welded steel, the monohull offers stability and exceptional sailing prowess. I once dreamed of sailing her round the world as she is a real bluewater seafairing boat! That said, she was used mainly as a very comfortable liveaboard for myself whilst I chased my london career.
12.19 meters in length, 3.5 meters in beam, and a 1.5-meter water draft. Comfortable cruising, she handles excellently with great maneuverability.
Situated on a residential mooring within a well-managed and popular marina, the sale of the boat excludes the 10% fee payable to Southwark Council for the transfer of the residential license.
The boat can be sold off the mooring if desired. Please contact me for more photos.
