Open, spacious and well-kept 60ft traditional narrowboat for sale, currently on a continuous cruiser license (and well set-up for a permanent mooring).
The Last Resort is a British steel built narrowboat by boat builder Geoff Loader, 1991 (shell 10-6-4).
Blacked in May 2022 and favorable hull survey completed June 2021 with all advisory repairs completed. BSC expires June 2025.
Engine:
Powered by an Isuzu, 3 cylinder 1500cc diesel engine. Marinised by Beta Marine. In perfect running order and serviced annually. Engine is accessed by its own door at the stern. A large and open layout makes access to the engine, batteries and electrics very convenient. Also gives lots of room for storage. Weed hatch access installed in 2019 makes getting to the propeller very easy.
Living area:
- Entrance to boat interior at bow via stable-style steel plate doors with two deadlocks into spacious open living/saloon area and kitchen:
- Wooden floorboards throughout.
- Morso squirrel stove with back boiler next to the entrance (installed in 2018), feeds 3 radiators.
- Large windows with removable top sections throughout for lots of natural light and fresh air- Swan hatch with hardwood inserts fitted 2018.
- Wooden table with 2 chairs.
- Custom built sideboard.
- Plenty of storage space behind the front step.
Kitchen:
- Gas fired 4 ring hob and oven.
- Stainless steel sink and draining units.
- Fitted wooden worktops and large open swan hatch (perfect for feeding the geese!)

- Raised full sized double bed in french polished cherry wood; complete with a set of six very deep drawers below the bed. Under slats at the back of the bed large (long-term) storage area (we keep our suitcases and bulky clothing here).
- Access to bilge inspection point and 2kW electric water boiler also here.
- Shelves and desk custom built opposite bed with plenty of storage space for two people.- Wooden floorboards fitted in January 2021.
- Large s-type window (doubling as fire escape) next to bed which is great for watching canal wildlife life from the comfort of the duvet!
Cratch:
- Beautiful original stained glass windows at bow.
- Bespoke cratch cover with large windows by Nikki Covers fitted in June 2020.
- Cratch frame restored with new seating fitted in June 2020.
- Bow lockers give ample dry storage for winter fuel (each locker can hold up to 4 bags of coal)
Exterior:
- Blacked in May 2022 at Harefield Marina.
- Rust treated and repainted all over in Summer 2024.

Heating:
Plenty of options whether CCing or with Shoreline power:
- Morso squirrel stove with back boiler that powers the central heating system (3 radiators in living room, bathroom and bedroom).
- 12V circulation pump.- 2kW 240V electric boiler (fitted 2015) - can be isolated from the main circuit if the boat is not plugged to shore power.
Electrics:
- Fitted with one 12v 110ah hour starter battery (lead acid) and 3 Sterling leisure Battery 115ah AGM Carbon Deep Cycle.
- Fitted with 240V & 12V sockets throughout the boat.
- 2 solar panels 295W (each) Perlight Delta Mono Percium.
- 50A Victron SmartSolar MPPT100-50.
- All lights are power efficient LEDs.
- The batteries are kept charged via the solar panels. Batteries can also be charged via an alternator by running the engine. Or through the 2 240V to 12V digital chargers that can be powered by the Honda 20i silent generator (sold with the boat) or via Shoreline power.
Water:
The large water tank capacity (800 litres) keeps us going for 3 weeks. Water pump fitted September 2020.
Gas:
2 13kg gas bottles housed in the exterior nose/bow compartment of the boat. 1 bottle will last you between 1.5 to 3-4 months depending on how much you use the hot water / oven.
