Uxbridge London UK|
Bohemian has been our lovely home since August 2018. A change in personal circumstances reluctantly forces her sale. We are confident the new owner will love her as much as we have. She is a superb vessel for leisure use or as a live aboard. We have all the paperwork and receipts which are available for inspection. We have made various improvements and replaced all parts affected by wear and tear.
We are the second owners since new. Bohemian was built in 2013 and was launched in 2014. The build and fit out was by Findlay boats in Nottingham. She has been lovingly cared for inside and out since she was built. She was last blacked in May 2019, and has had a new water pump fitted (December 2019) and a full set of four new leisure (domestic) batteries installed in May 2020. No issues were reported with the hull at the time of the blacking, and she has 12 anodes fitted which currently show only limited corrosion. A galvanic isolator is fitted, along with a Sterling Pro 2500W/80A inverter. The boat safety certificate is valid until 2022. She is 60ft (18m) long, with beam of 6ft 10in (2.1m) and 2ft draught approx. Unusually for a narrowboat, she has a headroom of 6ft 7in throughout.
Bohemian is a lovely, bright, modern design with a cruiser stern and reverse layout. The boat is currently configured as a live aboard with all facilities, including 12V fridge, washing machine, Thetford gas cooker and grill with four-ring hob, microwave and two TVs, including one in the bedroom. She comes with two large wardrobes and a security safe on board which would suit a working couple or similar. All windows are fitted with extra security bars. Outside dining can be arranged with an erectable table that fits at the stern. She has been used for live-aboard cruising and is currently berthed at a home mooring in a marina in west London close to the Crossrail station at West Drayton (continued use of the berth can be arranged separately will the marina operator). Travel time to Central London from West Drayton is around 30 mins.
The interior is grey painted vertical tongue and groove lining, floor to gunwale, and mostly white painted panelling above this. The bedroom has been recently (April 2020) redecorated in a contemporary blue/grey colour scheme (see pictures). Bohemian has new curtains and blinds throughout. Flooring is 18mm oak flooring throughout, with black tiles in the bathroom. Lighting is LED throughout. Cabin heating is via a Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove and Webasto diesel heater to four large radiators plus towel radiator. Insulation is spray foam. This is a cosy and warm boat, set up for year-round live aboard. Water heating is via Webasto, 240v immersion and engine.
From the stern, three steps (with storage) lead down into the saloon, with electric panel to starboard, below which is a storage unit and small TV mounted on the bulkhead. An airing cupboard and coat store is to the port. A Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove is located at the aft end of the saloon mounted on black tiles underneath with deco tiles rear and a side hearth. There is a fitted L-shape sofa to port with storage below, this can be used as a double berth, and a table can be erected to use as a dining area.
The galley is U-shape to port with Prima zebrano blocked work surface and gloss black storage cupboards and drawers below. Mounted on the forward bulkhead is a further section of matching storage units. Worktop has hotpoint mixer tap above inset black single bowl sink and drainer unit. Below the work surface and inside cupboards are a 12V Shoreline fridge and Aquamatic washing machine. At the aft end of the kitchen is a free-standing Thetford 4 gas hob burner with grill and oven. A microwave completes what is a wonderfully practical and well-equipped kitchen area for day-to-day use or entertaining!
Bohemian has a wonderful bathroom, separate to the rest of the boat. Against the aft bulkhead is a step-in shower with opening door and walls fully tiled in black. There is loads of storage in the bathroom as this is equipped for contemporary live aboard. At the forward end is an inset round white basin into a black quartz work surface. Bohemian has a modern pump out toilet. A large mirror is mounted on the forward bulkhead. The passageway continues with the first of the large wardrobes and ‘secret’ safe compartment to starboard.
In the bedroom, the double bed is lengthways to port with interior memory foam mattress, measuring approx. 6ft3in by 4ft, with storage below. Mounted on the aft bulkhead above the built-in headboard are two cupboards with inset reading lights. At the forward end of the cabin to port is a TV mounted on wall-bracket and the second large wardrobe with hanging space and shelves. To starboard is a fitted corner unit with storage. A large storage step leads up to the forward well deck.
The hull is a black bitumen painted to rubbing band, and from rubbing band through side decks, with non-slip finish to the side decks. Black cabin sides with cream and blue coach line, handrails in blue (handrails repainted May 2020) and roof in cream. The ‘Bohemian’ name sign is striking and is written on the cabin sides at the forward end. The windows are anodised aluminium, with top opening at the aft end and opening portholes at the forward end. A set of replacement windows is also provided. Side ‘duck hatch’ doors in saloon. In front of the forward well-deck is the gas locker containing 2 x 13kg gas bottles. Rope fenders fore and aft. The well deck is steel, self-draining, with steel storage lockers / benches with wood top to each side. The cratch cover is Tim Garland made and is in excellent condition. The well deck is covered with astroturf with access to water cap. From the well deck, two central half glazed timber lined steel doors lead to the cabin accommodation.
At the stern, a sliding hatch provides access to the saloon. The roof has 5 mushroom vents, and integral steel hand rails, TV Aerial, pole and plank. There is a signal repeater device to boost mobile phone reception. The aft deck is a cruiser type stern with steel rail around, supporting wood seating and back rest. Table can be erected to use as dining area. Two central timber lined steel doors lead to the saloon.
The engine is a Barrus Shire 38hp in tip-top condition, and was last serviced (with oil change) in June 2019. She currently has only 1077 engine hours and is skin tank cooled. The gearbox is a PRM120, and the stern gland is a sealed type. The weed hatch is quick release and there is a 12V bilge pump (although you will barely need this as this is a very dry engine bay!)
A full cruising kit is included, comprising four windlasses, three water ‘keys’, a set of mooring pins and wide range of electrical cabling for 240V shoreline hook-up. The aft shoreline connection point was replaced by a boat electrician in October 2019, when a new headlamp (LED type) was also installed. There is a horn and navigation lights.
