Description

S.B Adieu is a fully restored Thames sailing barge in exceptional condition. Completed in 1929, she is one of seven commissioned by FW Horlock and built by the Mistley Shipping Company.
After many years operating as a traditional cargo ship on the River Thames she was initially fitted out as a restaurant in 1987. The current owner purchased her in 1994 and has painstakingly transformed the interior into a luxurious and spacious floating home and has sensitively restored the exterior and rigging to her original condition. She is now suitable for both relaxed cruising and taking part in the traditional Thames Barge races, which the current owners do.
With over 1350 sq. ft. of living space SB Adieu has been remodelled to create spacious and comfortable living quarters while retaining her original charm.

The living accommodation comprises a large open plan kitchen and living area; master suite; forecastle (bow) cabin; laundry area and shower room, captain’s cabin and engine room.
The master suite has a generous bedroom and adjoining dressing room with bath. The dressing room could easily be reconfigured to provide a separate fourth cabin.
The forecastle cabin has two bunks, built in storage and it’s own access to the deck.The traditional captain’s cabin and engine room are accessed from a separate entrance at the stern and have been completely restored, providing two further berths and a seating area.

This boat is currently on a leisure mooring at the historic St Katherine Dock where it has laid for the past 23 years. A new owner could apply to obtain a licence by separate negotiation.
