Build: Fernie Fabrications, c. 1975 (reported)
Hull and shell: welded steel; new steel extension with Houdini hatch to front of boat (occupying most of bow)
Engine: Lister SR2. The engine has a new alternator and is running fine. Exhaust has been patched and could do with attention in the near future.
Four solar panels. 3 to one controller 1 to another controller which will be connected to starter batteries

Olwen is a project which is well on the way ready for the most satisfying and creative part!
Old floor removed; rust removed and internal hull treated with Fertan then painted with two coats bilge paint; new Phenolic Plywood floor installed. Boat walls have been redlined in pine cladding or Cement board where kitchen and bathroom to be installed
Bedroom has been constructed and is virtually complete. There is a single bed with under bed storage. There is also additional storage in the bow which is accessed by a hatch
Bathroom has been constructed with shower bath installed and plumbed into gulper pump which needs to be connected and completed with skin fitting. There is a multi purpose sink/shower which needs to be installed. (The one in photos has not been plumbed in and plan to swop out for this better alternative)
Ceiling of the bathroom has been lined with plastic composite board
Old ceiling removed. Newly insulated with Cellotex. Marine ply ceiling installed which needs trim and painting to complete.
Electrics have been run for the water pump, gulped pump, internal lighting, horn and front light. These need to be connected up and completed. 240v cabling has been run but electrical sockets are not installed or connected and would requires inverter being installed.
Stove is in place but needs to be secured and flue and collar fitted
Water pipes have been run but not yet connected to water tank and water pump
There are various materials including plywood, timber paints and fittings etc

Works to cruiser stern - Whole of bilge cleaned, de rusted treated with Fertan and painted with bilge paint. Deck board runners have also been cleaned, treated and painted. Gas lockers cleaned treated painted and fibre glassed to protect them.
Appliances and fittings ready to install:
Gas Cooker - Oven 3 rings and grill
3 Way Gas. Electric Fridge
Gas water heater - Valiant (untested). Reinstalled as in photos but not connected
Multi fuel burner - make unknown ; (needs new flue and collar reinstalling). Could potentially be moved to a new location if desired as hearth not yet cemented in.
A traditional narrow boat sofa/ bunk bed with storage drawers below has been left in place as can be seen in the photos
Work is ongoing on the boat at present with a used Ikea kitchen units due to be collected and installed hopefully in next 2 weeks. Work is ongoing on the electrics to reconnect them to the leisure batteries and provide separate supply to the starter battery to ensure they are topped constantly topped up
If wanted, the new owner is welcome to take materials collected for the project, including plywood, cement boards, timber, boards, cables for 240/12v system, new water pump, gulper pump for
shower, plastic plumbing pipe, various fittings and a variety of paints.
Olwen's mooring is on the bank of the River Lea in Hackney, opposite some beautiful big trees and the Rugby Fields at the bottom of Spring Hill. The mooring is off grid (hence four solar panels!), and very near the marina water point which can be used free of charge.
As work is ongoing this maybe reflected in the price as various works are completed

Paint has been purchased for the outside of the boat and the boat will be painted green on the top part. The metal around the windows windows have been cleaned and treated in preparation for painting
The kitchen units have been obtained and will be fitted shortly in the kitchen area and living area to provide ample storage and the 3 way fridge shown will be installed in one of the cabinets.
The mooring fee is currently £286/ month. The marina has shower and laundry facilities and a volunteer-led Cruising Club with bar.
A fantastic project for the right person. A schedule of works will need to be agreed with the Marina Office as the mooring is near residential properties.
