Welcome to our sale of Desiderata, a fully refurbished traditional style narrowboat originally fitted out in 2000 by Bridgewater boat builders. The majority of the original layout has been maintained which is extremely well planned out and built, and includes plenty of storage space around the boat. Changes have been made to increase the feeling of interior space and make the forward space more open plan.
Desiderata has been carefully refitted inside and out with high quality materials and a thorough attention to detail. She is in great condition both mechanically and cosmetically and has a high quality well finished interior that has been thoroughly refreshed to give a bright and crisp modern feeling interior with a hint of art deco to the styling in keeping with her wonderful name - check out the poem if you are wondering at the reference!
She is presented with fresh paint above and below the waterline, renewed anodes, a recent survey and a new BSS certificate for peace of mind. Expect the next few years to be maintenance free, allowing you to concentrate on your boating adventures!
Comprising of a spacious living area, a super roomy kitchen, a well equipped bathroom and cosy bedroom she gives the feeling of a wonderful home.
With hardwood flooring throughout laid lengthwise to elongate the feeling of the space and room to bring aboard your own stand alone furniture to give character and personality in the living area the front entrance to the boat is really welcoming especially when the multi fuel stove is lit.
The sitting and front entrance area lead on to a professionally built dinette which gives you dining seating for four people or can be converted to a comfortable double bed for guests. A clever set of rolling drawer boxes utilises the space under the seats.
Onwards through into the kitchen with more than enough work space with the newly installed solid Iroko kitchen tops, copious amounts of cupboard space , an integral Welsh dresser, and better, there is a hatch too, a must for every boat.
The bathroom houses a pump out toilet, cute little tub, ceramic over counter sink and oak shelving with a warm roomy cupboard and radiator.
Through to the bedroom on the right which has a double bed with a walkway through to the engine bay, full length double wardrobe between the bedroom and bathroom and extra storage space under and over the bed.
Farrow and Ball paint has been used throughout which is great for a small space searching for light as it has lot of pigments which pick up light wherever it can. Little details of brass curtain poles for the windows and beautiful contrasting cherry doors and trims ad to the special feel of the boat.
We’d love for you to come and take a look round. We have a walk through video and recent survey from October 2019 to send over on request. Due to the current ongoing Covid 19 situation we welcome only serious buyers to come and view the boat in person.
